1/4 Mile Timeslips

I've decided that it would be more efficient to just post my info, rather than put the graphics on here. If you want to see the physical timeslips, then you can click on the date above each series of timeslips and it will take you to the page with a scan of the actual timeslips. If you notice a discrepancy between the actual timeslips and the information I have posted here... please e-mail me.

In each of these runs, I was in the right lane, and my friend Sanah was in the left lane. Sanah drives a bone stock 1997 Prelude Sportshift, and I was in my bone stock 2000 Prelude 5-speed.

On this run, I missed the shift from second to third just before the 1/8 mile marker. You can see how low my speed was at the 1/8th mile mark. Just as an explanation, on this run, I dumped my clutch and my car bunny hopped off the line. This caused it to pop out of gear on me (twice), so then I decided to just put it in second and ease off on the start.

In these runs, I had a new AEM Cold Air Intake installed. I can't decide if the improvement in times/speeds is from the increased airflow or just from having more experience.

My competition here was a guy driving a 1999 Prelude 5-speed. The driver was supposedly the owner's younger brother (implying that he didn't have much experience behind the wheel). This car had the full intake/ header/ exhaust package... but it also had a full bodykit. Here, I raced a current generation (1999?) Civic EX Coupe. I didn't get a look under the hood, but from the times, I'm guessing it was stock.

My reaction times seem to be improving slightly. I'm hoping to hit 0.5... then I'll be happy.

I learned here just how much engine temperature affects the power my little engine can produce. I ran the first two runs immediately after arriving at the track. After these runs, I let my engine cool down about an hour or so, and ran the third run. Considerable difference.

On this run, I had a great shift from first to second. I tried to perform the shift from second to third just as swiftly, but ended up botching it. Clutch slipped a little at the start, but other than that I had a smooth run. Just got spanked. At least I got one victory this night... even if it was against a Civic. At least I can go home feeling a little better about myself.
